RSS stands for 'really simple syndication' and is a format for syndicating news and the content of news-like sites, but it's not just for news. Pretty much anything that can be broken down into discrete items can be syndicated via RSS. Once information about each item is in RSS format, an RSS-aware program can check the feed for changes and react to the changes in an appropriate way.
RSS-aware programs called news aggregators. A news aggregator can help you keep up with all your favorite weblogs by checking their RSS feeds and displaying new items from each of them.
There are many different RSS clients available, but here are a selected few that that you may find useful: Google Reader, RssReader, SharpReader, FeedReader, AmphetaDesk, NewsGator, and RSS Bandit, which is now an Open Source project you can customize, if you wish. Gaugemaster.com is not responsible for the content of external internet sites.
The RSS links on our website are found anywhere the logo appears. The easiest way to use them is to 'drag and drop' into your aggregator. You can also right-click and 'copy shortcut' or 'copy link location' and then paste it to the desired location.
The Google homepage can also be used to display RSS feeds as does the Yahoo and MSN pages. Simply follow their on-screen instructions to set up you own personal page, then you can 'add by URL' and paste the desired link from the Gaugemaster website.
We are always looking to make improvements to our website to try and improve the quality of your visit. We would welcome your feedback and suggestions, so please do not hesitate to e-mail our webmaster with your comments. Alternatively call us on 01903 884488.
