Not sure where the name Pink Kar came from but we have been selling the products of this Barcelona based manufacturer for over five years.  A curious range of models, some based very closely on Scalextric products of the early 60's and in fact the Auto Union and Healey 3000 models from their range will take the classic Scalextric RX motor as a direct swap.  The non-steering versions of the pre-war GP cars are great little cars to race, especially the ones equipped with the can type power plus motors.  Also of interest is that Pink Car offer a comprehensive range of spares for these vehicles including body trim parts for people wishing to restore their 60's originals.  Oh and in case you are thinking, ‘wait a minute, will the new type motor adaptor fit my old Scalextric car with a burnt out RX motor?’, well the answer is yes!

Alongside these renegades of the 60's are totally new offerings including the classic Ferrari GTO, the old type VW Beetle in saloon and cabriolet versions and a Citröen 2CV.  Not too sure about the race history of the last one but Pink Kar do offer the petite snail in yellow (CV050), so chase scenes from James Bond, ‘For Your Eyes Only’ can be re-enacted! (Don’t think anyone makes Peugeot 504s though ! - CT)  The Beetle however, did have a limited competition history and a couple of rally cars are included in this range of mainly road going vehicles, along with an excellent Empi sponsored oval window version (CV025) that Dan Gurney used to win the 1963 Nassau VW Grand Prix.  Also noteable is an interesting model, (CV058), in which three rather aryan looking, black shirted men are travelling in a tongue-in-cheek wartime style black Beetle cabriolet!

The GTO though is by far the most popular offering from this manufacturer and a model of this holy grail of road going Ferrari race cars has not been available in ready to run form since Revell made a version of it in the 60's.  Finished in a wide range of liveries, fans of John Surtees will be pleased to know that a version from the 1962 Tourist Trophy (CV057) has been produced and with Mike Parkes Midnight blue GTO (CV043), classic sports car racing from Goodwood can be yours on your living room floor!  Of interest to modifiers and scratch builders, the wire wheeled axles on these cars are available separately as spare parts.
