G scale was created by Wolfgang and Eberhard Richter when their family firm, Ernst Paul Lehmann Patentwerk, first set up to make tin toys in 1881, and introduced their innovative indoor/outdoor "LGB" brand in 1968. G scale models train is 22.5 times smaller than the real train it represents. By comparison, an HO scale model is about 87 times smaller and Z scale is about 220 times smaller.
For both adults and children alike LGB has much to offer from amazingly priced entry-level models and start sets to finely detailed works of art for the serious collector, as well as everything needed to actually run a model railway. Outside in the garden instead of in a dark attic means fun in the sun for all the family!

Both traditional analogue and exciting digital control systems are offered by LGB, and both systems are available with start sets.
The digital system means that you can control many engines independently on the same line without the need for any complicated wiring. Accessories, lighting and sound can also be controlled digitally at the push of a button.
With very robust, weatherproof build, LGB set a very high standard of quality for their Locomotives and Rolling Stock. Many of these Locomotives feature on-board sound systems, synchronised with the motor to produce realistic effects.
As well as he top quality range of Brass track sections is ideal for all-weather, year-round use in the garden, or for use indoors.
LGB offer a comprehensive range for both european and US outline modellers, but whatever you model in G scale your layout should be complemented with buidings from Pola and Piko, lighting by Viessmann, figures by Preiser and Noch and scenic materials & trees by Gaugemaster, Noch and Pola.
