Details Swiss Football Team »Goaaaal« – Finally there is a complete football team. The Swiss national football team, the so-called Nati, presents itself at NOCH, the model landscaping specialist, in its traditional red and white jerseys. The team consists out of 10 players and one goalkeeper. The model railway figurines - the football players - have been re-created on a 1:87 scale for the model railway H0 scale and modelled in typical, game-related scenes. The players fight, straddle, curse and run. In combination with other national teams, international matches can be depicted on the model railway landscape or in a diorama. The Swiss national football team ("Nati" for short, or Équipe de Suisse de football in French, Nazionale di calcio della Svizzera in Italian or Squadra naziunala da ballape da la Svizra in Rhaeto-Romanic) is an all-star player selection of the Swiss Football Association (SFV) and it represents Switzerland on an international level. The team is currently being coached by Vladimir Petkovic since July 2014. The Swiss team competed in its first match in 1905 against France and the team's biggest success was winning the silver medal during the 1924 Olympic Summer Games, while the junior team won the 2009 World Cup for teams under the age of 17. During the period between the 1930s and the 1960s, the Austrian Karl Rappan shaped the Swiss football. He indroduced the so-called "Schweizer Riegel" and coached the team during three World Cups. The 1954 World Cup was held in Switzerland, but in the period after the 1960s, a time of little succes began and continued for almost 30 years. The national coach during the time after this period, Roy Hodgson, brought the team finally back closer to the world's elite football nations and the team qualified for the 1994 World Cup and for the 1996 European Championship. Under the national coach Jakob Kuhn, the Swiss qualified for the 2004 European Championship and for the 2006 World Cup. In 2008, Switzerland was the host of the European Champiionship together with Austria and therefore was qualified automatically. The team then went on to qualify once more for the 2010 and 2014 World Cups under the new coach Ottmar Hitzfeld. (Source: Wikipedia) Contents: Packaging Unit: 1
