C62 were manufactured from 1948 to 1949 just after the war by using the boiler of D52 freight locomotive which were in surplus in order to make up for locomotives for passenger cars under the name of conversion. C62 operated in Hokkaido was equipped with heavy anti cold weather and snow mechanism to travel powerfully on the northern island. The locomotives represent the double locomotive traction by famous No.2 + No.3 locomotives in express “Niseco”. These are reproduction without any spec. change from the previous version.
