Inside the tool box you will find a selection of hand-picked expert tools which will enhance the creation and operation of your model railway. Details of the tools and their uses are outlined below. We wish you a lifetime of happy railway modelling.

Contains:
  • GM161 Cutting Knife and Blades

  • An immensely useful all round tool – this can be used on materials of all kinds from card through to plastic sheeting, and useful for cleaning up plastic flash from kit parts before assembly, especially if the design or size of the parts makes it difficult to use emery boards or files.

  • GM619 Precision Oiler

  • Perfect for getting just the right amount of lubrication where you need it. The fine needle applicator gives you fine control over the oil flow, avoiding loco electrics being swamped with oil. This is also useful for other applications where oil is needed but it is important to leave electrics clean – a dab of oil on the tie bar of sticky points can work wonders.

  • GM633 Glass Fibre Pencil

  • Ideal for cleaning up parts before assembly, cleaning loco and rolling stock wheels, and a vital tool for soldering – metal parts cleaned with this will give a much better base for solder to bond with, preventing poor joints.

  • GM660 Pick And Place Tools

  • Ideal for manipulating very small and difficult to handle parts, where tweezers may cause damage. The adhesive tip has sufficient “grab” to cope with anything up to the weight of a coin, putting loco detail parts well within it's capabilities.

  • GM663 Pin Pusher

  • Gone are the days of bruised thumbs and bent track pins! This makes handling the slim track pins a breeze – simply pop one in the end, and push into place – the sprung tube will keep the pin under control as it is pushed into place. Pins not included.

  • GM664 Sprue Cutter

  • Perfect for preparation of plastic kits, with no damage to parts or fingers. The slim tips are ideal for getting to hard to reach sections of sprue, and the cutting action means no twisting or damage to parts as they are cut.

  • GM670 Deluxe Paintbrush Set

  • Ranging in size from the big No. 2 to the smallest No. 000 – the Large triangular waist of these brushes gives you great control, and prevents both twisting of the brush and aching hands when lots of painting has to be done! The larger sizes are great for base coats and large areas, the smallest are fine enough to be used for detailing on miniature figures, like eyes and faces.
