Model: The 4-piece basic set contains 1 1st class end wagon, 1 1st class passenger car converted with restaurant, 1 2nd class center coach and 1 2nd class end wagon. Prototype: The series 407 is a high speed train from the ICE fleet that is presently under construction. The manufacturer of these trains is Siemens. The DB AG denotes the trains as the “new ICE 3” even so they are for the large part a new development.
The four system vehicles are scheduled for service in Germany, France, and Belgium. With 460 seats the 8-part ICE/series 407 is supposed to offer the same seating comfort as the ICE 3 with more seats. This is achieved by relocating several housing cabinets and to dispense with compartments in favour of high-capacity cars.
