Hornby has been producing OO British Outline for over 70 years, including the famous A3 Flying Scotsman and the popular Thomas the Tank Engine range. Also available is a vast selection of coaches and wagons in many liveries, as well as additional accessories from point motor switches to a complete Track system. Hornby have been at the forefront of producing what customers want with new products always been realised.
One of their biggest releases to date is the “Skaledale” range, a collection of buildings from both town and country, including houses, shops, village pubs, and farm buildings, as well as station buildings. The Skaledale range is produced using a resin mould so unlike the standard kits that wear available before more detail is able to be shown on the buildings and no construction is required. Another advantage of resin kits is that adding extra detail such as weathering and interior lighting is easy.
With a DCC system now in their range, and with many of their locomotives now being DCC Digital Ready, the technology is right up-to-date, meaning that Hornby is ready for the future of railway modelling. The latest digital models include onboard sound and functional lighting.
Also produced is a range of products for the beginner in their “Railroad” range, which features a selection of locomotives and rolling stock at fantastic prices. In 2007 Hornby released the “Skale Autos” range. This range is a diecast vehicle range of classic British models. The range has been designed to help modellers enhance the layout with some classic cars and vans, adding life and points of interest.
The “Lyddle End” range features buildings and accessories for modellers in N Gauge. Featuring many of the same buildings in the “Skaledale” range, these well detailed models are a quick and easy way of modelling built-up areas. Other accessores available in "Lyddle End" range include gravestones, refuse skips and even a gerden shed.
