Matt Lovell

MATT LOVELL looks at what is due for release in 2016 from Piko in N Scale.

PIKO is one of the key continental brands that we stock here at Gaugemaster, and spans four different scales; N, TT, HO and G. For this article I will be concentrating on the new items to be released in the N Scale range and highlighting a few locomotives and rolling stock which should be popular with lots of Continental modellers.

Locomotives

Piko BR118 Electric Locomotive

The class E18 was designed and built in the mid 1930s for use on the busy European freight routes. Between 1935 and 1939 a total of 61 locomotives were created for this class. Most of these locomotives were sold off after the Second World War the majority of them going to the Deutsche Bundesbahn and a few were split between the Deutsche Reichsbahn and the Österreichische Bundesbahnen.

These models feature twin traction tyres, directional lighting and a Plux16 decoder socket. These models are available in the different liveries used for this class including OBB, DRG and DB.
